Must pass pre-skills test to continue in the course.) \nPOOL & CLASSROOM SESSIONS:\nDATES & TIMES: Saturday April 25\, May 2\, 9\, and 16 @ 11:00 am to 6pm.** \n​ \n(MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES)\n \nLOCATION: ROCK Sports Club\, 3092 Shafto Road–Building #3\, Tinton Falls \n(Please make sure you bring your suit\, towels\, sweats\, flip flops\, water and healthy snacks.) \n \nOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA \nSun & Surf offers an American Red Cross blended course available online which allows students to study independently on their own schedule. Instructions on how to access the course (which includes certifications in Lifeguard Training\, First Aid\, and Professional Rescuer CPR) will be given to each student upon completion of the Pre-Skills class. The water skills portion of the class will follow after the online course work has been completed. A complete schedule will be forwarded to keep all students on track. \n*Arrive Ready To Swim / Pre-Skills Requirements: \nMinimum Age: 15 years old before final session of this course. \nPrerequisite 1 \n​■ Swim 150 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a\ncombination of both. – Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. – Swim goggles are allowed.\n■ After swimming 150 yards\, maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs. \n– While treading\, you can only use your legs.\n– Place your hands under your armpits.\n– Your head must remain above the surface of the water.\n■ Swim 50 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a\ncombination of both. \n​Prerequisite 2: Timed Event \nBasic Skills combination – within 1:40 minutes: Starting in the water\, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. \nSurface dive\, feet-first or head-first\, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. \nReturn to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface for breathing. Candidates must not swim the distance under water. \nExit water without using a ladder or steps. \n** Class time may be reduced depending on class size and student ability. \nclick logo ​to register
